How did we become one in Christ?

Text: Ephesians 2:13-18, 2:19-22

Introduction:

In America, many young people go to church, but many are unaware of how they were delivered from their sins. I will demonstrate in this sermon how we are redeemed from our sins and how our lives were transformed both before and after accepting Jesus. Many of the time we entertain ourselves in this world, but We need to be cautious about the consequences of our actions before taking them.

  1. The blood of Jesus brings PEACE (Eph 2:13-18) The people of Ephesus were far from God, but it was the blood of Jesus which brought them near to God. and changed everything. The death of Jesus Christ on the cross brings us near to God. Often in the New Testament writers said that we are saved from our sins through the blood of Jesus (Acts 20:28, Rom 3:25, 1 Peter 1:19, 1 John 1:7) While people used to offer sacrifices to animals during the Old Testament era, their crimes would only be pardoned for a year; nevertheless, the death of Jesus on the cross resulted in eternal pardon. It was the plan of God and will of God that Jesus will die on the cross (Acts 2:22-24, 4:27,28) Jesus died as a sacrifice for our sins. In verses 14-17, Paul works out our oneness in Christ's terms of the peace that the Lord has brought us. If we have peace with God, we should also have peace with all who belong to God.

  2. What are the consequences of Jesus' blood in the life of the believer? a. We are no more strangers and foreigners in this world (Eph 2:19) b. We are in God's family (Eph 2:19) c. We become a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
