Testimony of Salma Khatoon, a Rohingya Christian

Updated: Aug 8, 2020

My name is Salma Khatoon. I was grown up in Buthidaung, Rakhine State, Myanmar. Now I am 75 years old. I was Muslim for 61 years, later in 2006, I accepted Jesus as my personal LORD and Savior. Following Islam with my own discretion for almost 50 years was not eligible to attain salvation. I know I was altruistic and firmly follow all the sunnah, yet I didn't get the assurance of salvation.

I accepted Jesus in 2006. Of course, we faced difficulties, hated, threaten to death, inaccessible to many things, but that made my family more strong in faith. Analogous to Christ, our suffering is nothing. Suffering should not make us wonder, it was affirmed by Jesus before we exist. My life was changed, I attained the assurance of my salvation, I am filled by the joy of the LORD, because I got hope for my life after death. Now I know whom I believe, why I believe, and where I will go. I also remember the promise Jesus made with us, 'Where I am there you will be also' This is the guarantee I get in Christ.

Cessation

Dear Rohingya brothers and sisters, do you want to get the assurance of salvation? Do you want to attain salvation? Do you want peace? Then believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Ultimately your life will change, you will have peace in your heart which only Christ can give. Jesus loves you.

Rohingya people have suffered unimaginably and are often giving credit to Allah. I wish everyone who is trying to please God and have faith would believe the truth and have eternity. I remember praying for Rohingya people one and reading about the Exodus from Egypt in the Bible. I cried out to Yehovah hoping He would hear me for Rohingya people since I know Him through Jesus. Then I read about Rohingya people going from Myanmar to Bangladesh in a sort of exodus and so many surviving. I pray God gives visions of who…
