The Reason for the incarnation of Jesus Christ, part-1.

There are some of important reasons for the incarnation and they all find their fulfilment in the person and work of Christ.

To Confirm the Promises of Salvation Made to the Patriarchs

God made covenants of promise with the patriarchs; Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac

and Jacob. These covenants involved salvation for both Israel and the Gentiles through the seed of the woman, the lord Jesus Christ. Christ came by the incarnation to fulfil these promises made to the fathers (Rom, 15:8-9, Matt. 1:1; Isa 7:14; 9:6-9; Gen. 3:15; 22:18; Micah 5:1-2).

To confirm the promises, and in Gen. 3:15. God says that I well put enmity between you and the woman and between yours of springs and her’. He will crutch your head, and you will trike his heel.

Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, a covenant that is superior to the first. The first covenant did not save; indeed, it could not save (Heb. 8:6). “But now has obtained a mere excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better promise”. The makes clear that the provision of the old covenant merely provided an external working of the sin. The New Testament make it abundantly clear that the mediator who accomplished the salvation was fully God and fully man. The human high priest had to respect the Day of Atonement sacrifice in the Holy of holiest years after.
